Bob Walden Named Health & Life Sciences Director of Business Development

Alexandria, VA (November 14, 2011) – MPR Associates, a world leading specialty engineering and management services organization has named Bob Walden as the new Director of Business Development for the Health & Life Sciences business sector.

Mr. Walden will be actively engaged in the management of current projects and in the lead generation of prospective clients for MPR's Health & Life Sciences business. Specifically, he will work to increase industry awareness for the Health & Life Sciences' innovative, proven process to approaching the medical device product development cycle.

"Bob Walden possesses a comprehensive knowledge of the medical device industry which he has gained over the course of his successful career," noted Christian Haller, VP of MPR Health & Life Sciences. "This combined with his experience in working with companies from start-ups to universities,tech-transfer organizations and incubators, as well as large multi-national companies make him uniquely equipped to lead our expanding business development actives."

Before joining MPR, Mr. Walden was responsible for development of new business opportunities and sales for Synectic's medical device product development and manufacturing business.

Prior to this position, he was the Orthopedic and Ophthalmic Business Development Manager and Market Manager for Cadence, Inc. He also held a similar position at Cadence's medical device component manufacturing division, IncisionTech.

Mr. Walden is a graduate of Oregon State University and holds a M.Ed. Degree in Education Leadership from the University of West Florida. He also served as a Marine Corps officer for 21 years before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.


Philip E. Brown Named Director of Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) Services

Alexandria, VA. (September, 2011) - MPR Associates, a world leading specialty engineering and management services organization has named Philip Brown as the new Director of RAM Services for MPR's Federal Services business sector.

Mr. Brown comes to MPR as a recognized industry leader in RAM services. He has 27 years of related military experience combined with an additional 13 years of Federal and Commercial sector experience.

RAM will be a major growth area for MPR Federal Services in 2012 and beyond. As the new Director of RAM Services, Mr. Brown will lead all growth opportunities, project management, and lead generation as MPR continues to actively pursue RAM projects for the Federal Government.

"Phil Brown comes to MPR as an experienced senior executive who will lead and build upon MPR's successful Conditioned Based Maintenance and RAM services for our commercial clients extending and growing that business specifically with our Federal sector clients," says Dale Driscoll, Vice President Federal Services. "During a time of severely constrained capital budgets, extending the life and improving the reliability of systems and equipment will be vital to our national security and growth."

Before joining MPR, Mr. Brown was the Senior Program Manager for Orbis, Inc. leading several reduction of total ownership cost projects and providing metrics, risk management, and reliability analysis for critical safety items programs. Additionally, during his corporate career he has held positions on all levels of the corporate ladder specifically providing leadership, management, and growth strategies for organizations and federal clients.

Mr. Brown holds a BS from Regents (Excelsior) College and a MBA in International Business from Barrington University. He retired from the Navy at the rank of Lieutenant Commander.


MPR to Host the Second AdvMed 2011 Entrepreneurship Boot Camp

Alexandria, VA. (September, 2011) - MPR Product Development (www.mpr.com) will be the lead host for the upcoming AdvaMed 2011 Entrepreneurship Boot Camp taking place Monday September 26th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, in Washington DC.

Capitalizing on the tremendous success of the AdvaMed 2010 Entrepreneurship in the Medical Device Industry Boot Camp, the 2011 workshop will focus on how startups and new ventures can create value at every stage of the development process.

Through a combination of presentations, workshops and panels, attendees will learn from a variety of leading CEOs, investors and industry leaders on what works and what to avoid when commercializing new products and services to ensure their startup's success. Speakers and panelists will provide concrete, actionable methods that can be used to increase value from the start while minimizing overhead costs and mitigating future risks.

MPR Associates to Present at EPRI's Buried Pipe Integrity Group Meeting

Alexandria, VA (February 3, 2011) – MPR Associates' John Simons is to present with Kinectrics' Dr. Armando Antoniazzi at the next EPRI Buried Pipe Integrity Group (BPIG) meeting taking place February 15 – 17, 2011 at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida.

Mr. Simons, a MPR Senior Nuclear Engineer, and Dr. Antoniazzi will be giving a presentation entitled "Case Studies on Tritium Pathways." This presentation will cover tritium and the various pathways it can take to reach the environment. Additionally, case studies specifically covering complex tritium pathways which have occurred will be included in the presentation. This presentation will also establish why the industry should be thinking about tritium differently verses other types of isotopes.

EPRI's Buried Pipe Integrity Group meetings works to support the needs of nuclear plant owners with respect to ensuring the structural integrity and operability of nuclear plant buried piping. Christian Haller joined MPR in 1985. Since 2000, he has served as the General Manager and Executive Director of the Product Development Division of MPR Associates. As a recognized thought-leader in the areas of New Product Innovation and Technology Development, Mr. Haller contributes strategic guidance and vision to clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies.
